I like a lot of his early stuff Chasing Amy and Clerks esp.

I first saw "Clerks" a couple years ago. Yeah, that movie sucked. Sorry Mike. I didn't understand why everyone thought it was so good when it came out.

It was hilarious...and was unique and different than most things out there. If you couldn't appreciate the brilliance of the Death Star conversation, I guess you probably wouldn't like the movie :)

Yeah, sorry, I stand by my statements. I have plenty of friends who think he's great and I've heard the arguments, but I don't get it. I've seen all the movies and his filmmaking is mediocre at best. His dialog writing skills is unique, but I can't say he's good. His characters tend to talk in a way that no real person ever would, and, like I mentioned, they usually say thinks that are just disgusting. Unless you want to say Dogma is some sort of statement about the Catholic church or religion in general I don't even think he really has anything valuable to say - or at least, he hasn't said it yet. I don't really find his brand of humor amusing.

That's just my opinion, of course.

If characters in movies or TV talked the way real people do, no one would watch them :)

But that's cool, not everyone likes his stuff...but they were entertaining at least.
