Academy Awards - Oscar Winners For 2007

The Writer’s Strike ended and we got the only awards show that anyone in Hollywood really cares about anyway - the Academy Awards (otherwise known as the Oscars). Jon Stewart did a fair job hosting but I doubt this will go down in anyone’s book as one of the bet ... Continue reading »

I was pretty happy for Diablo Cody and obviously the win for Falling Slowly.

Jon had a few moments, but overall...it was just okay. Although I did like seeing all the previous 79 Best Picture winners and the previous best actor, actress and directors...

As much as I want Johnny Depp to win an Oscar, I think Daniel Day Lewis deserves the award. Maybe next time for Johnny.

I have no doubt Johnny Depp will win the Award fairly soon. He's already racked up like three Best Actor nominations in five years. The Academy has a history of giving the award to someone after overlooking them for several years. I'm already going out on a limb and saying he might win for Michael Mann's "Public Enemies" next year. We'll see.

I went from hosting Oscar parties every year to not really caring. I think it is because Mike would never come - always had some lame excuse... :)

Apparently, this Oscar telecast drew 21% FEWER viewers this year over last. That's a pretty big drop, even for an awards program.

I thought it was actually a decent Oscars telecast, even if the winners were a little predictable. I thought Jon Stewart was funny without being annoying, and I liked the historical context they used, being it was the 80th.
