I actually liked Chikezie's "If Only For One Night." I thought it showed some good vocal range, power, and control. I don't think Chikezie was attempting to do a Luther Vandross imitation, but I sure was reminded of him during the song. The judges were unduly harsh on this one.

And if that sappy little David Archuleta had sung an older R&B song, they would've praised him for having the guts to go "old school."

I'll agree with Rob O. - Chikezie did a good job on his song and probably should not have gone home this week. However, I doubt he would ever have cracked the top 6 so whether it was this week or one of the next few coming up - he was getting ready to pack.
