That screeching sound we hear are the train cars leaving the track. Wow, some of the worst performances ever. Brooke and Jason were totally exposed for being one trick ponies, while the David's both did a great job adapting. I actually David A's performance, although not much of a stretch for him. David C, did his usual stellar job adapting to the genre. He's my pick as best of the night. Is there any question this is now a two horse race between the Davids?

Bottom 3; Brooke, Syesha, and Jason. I thought Carly picked the perfect song for her, but she could easily be here instead of Syesha.

Going home; probably Brooke based on the last few weeks. I think Jason has enough female fans to stick around another week or two.

Obviously, he's going nowhere, but I'm ready for David A. & Jason to go ahead and find the other coupla guys to form a boy band and be done with it. Their voices are too thin and specialized to make it solo.

David Cook did a great job vocally, but there wasn't much for him to latch onto performance-wise.

I thought Carly did a great job and seemed to have fun with her number.

Either Brooke or (preferably) Jason needs to go tonight.

Jason - Did you drink from Randy's Coca-Cola cup last night? Archie actually dropped some words last night, but never a mention of it from the judges!

It's starting to bug me how easy they are on him week after week. Yes, I'll admit the kid has a good voice but talk about someone never leaving his comfort zone!

As for Brooke, she looks more and more tense each week, and I think it's finally caught up to her. I predict she will go.

I don't watch the show, but my girlfriend had it on and I watched some of it. I got tired of Andrew Lloyd Weber saying "it was clear this person didn't know ANYTHING about the song." May be true, but he said it for each one.

"While it may be true that most American Idol alums will eventually be forced to pursue a career in musical theater, I don’t feel that we, the viewers, should have to sit through their auditions." <- LOL!

I think Syesha auditioned for Webber last night. That's where she's going to end up no matter where she lands in Idol. She looked happier last night than in the last weeks.

Jason is going to be in the bottom three for sure. How could you not know that "Memory" is from Cats?

@Jina - I didn't know the song "Archie" sang so I didn't even know he dropped any words. Needless to say, he covered it better than Brooke (I'm about to explode) White.

Just because the camera wasn't on his WIDE OPEN eyes when he did it! I don't know the song that well either, but I heard the mumbling.

I'm not trying to be mean, Jason. I just think they should hide their "favorites" a little more judiciously at times!

That's make it the second time he's forgotten the words. Sounds like he's not ready to sing an entire song by himself. Off to Boy Band Camp for him!

I agree with Jina, they are way too easy on Archie, who as she says never strays from his comfort zone. That said the best thing for all, is for him to win. That way he can have his record deal and one record and then fade away with the other winners (save Kelly and Carrie). Meanwhile David Cook will still get a record deal and hopefully achieve Daughtryesque (yeah that's a word) success.

Seriously, there is a lot of man love from Randy for Archie and it makes me sick. I don't like him at all, but it's really sad how Rand says every week "That was da bomb dude, you can blow!"

I agree, Jina. I'm not exactly a fan of David A either. He can sing really well, but they definitely have been soft on him about breaking out of his shell.

As for them telegraphing their favorites...well, this isn't exactly the first time that's happened. They pretty much do the same thing every season.

Awful. Terrible. Made me rethink my decision to watch Idol for the first time this year.

I will go against the grain and say that I actually liked Jason's performance. He did the best with what he had and sang with emotion, rather than getting up on stage and screaming like Carly or scaring like Brooke.

Oh, and for those who think he belongs in a boy band - wrong. He may have the female fans, but he is more of a singer-songwriter type (see Jack Johnson, Pete Yorn, etc.)

Believe me, Archuleta and Brooke weren't the only ones who messed up lyrics that night. It surprised me that none of the judges mentioned anything about Carly singing the wrong words to Superstar, but they were all ready to come down on Brooke. BTW, Carly sang part of All I Ask Of You on the results show along with the rest of the top 6. The song she did on performance night was Superstar
