Yeah... you are connecting from sat box to your pc, or have a splitter to go to your tv and pc...

it is connecting from the sat box to the vid card on the back of your pc.... then you can capture your own video and do all sorts of cool stuff with it (i.e. edit Jason onto American Idol, etc....)

Yeah...but don't you need a receiver in order for your video card to view it?

All you need is a video capture card for your pc and to connect your sat connection to it. I do it all the time... =)

or... you wait for someone to post it and you shamelessly steal it and post it as your own....

I actually HAVE a better computer in the office, I just need to get some sort of HD tuner for it and run the OTA antenna down through the ceiling or something...then I could record local programming and then I could...

Ah forget it, that sounds like a lot of work :)
