He's going to show up in the final book and kill John Horus. That's been my theory since he "died". I'm sticking with it until I'm finally proven wrong.

R.A. The Flash... Mark Waid did a STELLAR job with ole Wally West, and Johns did not disappoint in taking over the helm. Unfortunately, The Flash today is written by neither author and the story line BLOWS (makes extensive use of Wally's kids, really do we have to read about it... pah-leaseeeee make it stop).

Re: Comic Book/Graphic Novel Recommendations

100 Bullets is supposed to be excellent. Civil War. Besides the graphic Novel you read there were a TON of side stories that crossed over into heroes regular comic stories. It affected the ENTIRE Marvel universe. So if you want to know every detail (and be a pro like the Capn and RA) then you get Punisher War Journal added to your list, and you find out Cap America trained ole Punisher and how he respected Cap and a ton of other things that fill in a million blanks. but if the Punisher is boring, you tell them you dont want that cross over. Some cross overs are stoopid and they do it just to promote a book, like Heroes For Hire, really not much relevance to Civil War save 30 seconds, but they continually tagged it as a cross over so you would buy it. But I offed it cause it didnt affect the story ... much.

Re: Comic Book/Graphic Novel Recommendations

You don't get charged until you pick up the comics, so you can always have them put something they pulled back up on the wall. Of course, if you do that a lot, you should probably just have the title removed from your pull list.

I don't do the crossovers. Plus lots of the middle-tier and small publishers like Dark Horse and Avatar. Gotta tell you, since I don't usually check Diamond's list before I go in, there have been weeks I've gone in and had 0 comics in my box.

Then there are weeks like this one.

R.A. The idea of boxes is simply to guarantee you get XYZ issue. So you get 1st prints and such which will get you $$$ if you pick the right ones later (i.e. first print IronFist, GreenArrow, etc.) also it ensures when you tag a particular seires you want to follow, they add in all the crossovers as well so you dont have to manually track them all down, well thats how its supposed to work)

Re: Comic Book/Graphic Novel Recommendations

Yeah, with Atomic, you give them a $20 deposit and then fill out a pull list. Then your regular comics will get pulled and put in. I did it initially because I was tired of showing up to get a comic I wanted on Wednesday but they hadn't ordered more than one for the wall. Box holders get filled (are supposed to get filled) first, then the wall.

R.A. Hasn't happened in a few months - knock wood - because I've complained enough that a couple of the regulars seem to take a second pass at it. I go last weekend give my box #, they hand me a stck of crap. I said "Uuummm you get the right box #?" s The cofused help behind the counter said "Tsk, sigh, yes... I'm sure" I said "Any chance dentists loaded the boxes this last Tuesday as 7 out of 10 books were wrong". 70% they gave me were not on my list, AND they didnt give me what was supposed to be on my list. Its why I ALWAYS go back manually and review what is out and what should be handed to me.
