Mark Millar to save the Superman movie franchise?

Started by Mike Olbinski · 1 year ago

If you recall way back in May, I posted a blog about the guys at SaveSuperman.com who were furiously working hard to get DC Comics to reinvent the Superman movie franchise and save it from the grasps of Bryan Singer and Brandon Routh.
Well, I don’t think they had anything to do with this news, but I’m sure they are positively giddy over ... Continue reading »

  • I'm hoping for Ang Lee.
  • Wow. You're really trying to lose points today! lol
  • Points for comedy!
  • This is definitely interesting news although I'm a bit of a skeptic at the moment. I'm not sure if the studio is really ready to try to reinvent the franchise again so soon. Still, after the last film, they might just be willing to gamble.
  • I said it the other day, Hollywood is focusing on everything Frank Miller and Mark Millar, as these guys have the beat as to whats fresh, whats going on, and what the masses want to see. This could only be good. REALLY good... this could move it up a notch to the likes of Ironman and Batman good... I have two questions....
    1) I dont get your reference of "Let’s hope it’s not Michael Bay right?" Why not? Michael Bay doesnt make a good movie? Transformers wasn't the queen , i understand that , as not much is, but he does a pretty good job with all I've seen so far...
    and
    2) IS IT FRAKKIN OUT YET!?!?!?!?!?!
  • Michael Bay lacks a certain, shall we say "nuance", when it comes to film. He can make things blow up like nobody's business, but he has a much harder time with the emotional aspects of a film...
  • I just don't think Michael Bay + Superman = what I want. He's good at action
I guess, but should Superman be all action?

Well, I guess if Millar's pitch is going to be a more action-packed story,
then perhaps Bay can do it again. I dunno though, I just would rather see a
    better director at the helm.
  • James Cameron would be awesome, but that has a 0.001% chance of happening.
  • Can we all at least agree on one thing? DEFINITLEY NO TIM BURTON....
  • Well, he wouldn't do it anyway, unless Johnny Depp plays Superman and Helena Bonham Carter plays Lois Lane.
