I'm thinking the same thing... that the Others (Ben's people) are descendants of the civilization that lived on the island for a looong time. Dharma somehow found the island and started building hatches. I think the Vault was built by Dharma in the 70s or whenever they showed up... but maybe they are the ones who found the cavern of exotic matter and kept it on ice. But then why would Jacob want them to move the island using that method.... ahhh who is Jacob...?!? This is such an intricate story.

Adams last blog post..Lost: Theres No Place Like Home

Re: More thoughts on Lost: “There’s No Place Like Home”

I am curious as well as to who built that donkey wheel. To me, Dharma had nothing to do with it. This was something that The Others knew about from their long history there.

Hasn't it been pretty much determined that The Others have been there for a long time, while Dharma only arrived recently and built their stations and hatches to do experiments?

What's interesting is The Vault was built in front of a tunnel, but did they even know it was there? Was it just a wall close to the exotic materials, so they built The Vault there?

If so, how does Ben know about the tunnel? And...since The Vault had to have been built a LONG TIME ago, then no one has moved the Island in quite awhile.

I wonder if indeed Charles Widmore is the one behind Dharma, he sent them there, and disrupted the natives/The Others already there, and now there is a battle for control of the place.

I think The Others are descendants of the race that has either always lived there or discovered the place long ago.

Re: More thoughts on Lost: “There’s No Place Like Home”

I hope they explain why that cavern was so cold someday. Anyway I can't take the credit, the idea was introduced by Jeff Jensen in his EW article: http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20203291_2,00.html

Adams last blog post..Lost: Theres No Place Like Home

Re: More thoughts on Lost: “There’s No Place Like Home”

Yeah, I agree with Adrian...and interesting parallel with the frozen battery and the frozen "donkey wheel"...

Re: More thoughts on Lost: “There’s No Place Like Home”

I just thought that this seasons finale wasn't as great as last seasons. Last season I remember i was like in awe of how they could write something so AMAZING. The flashforward/back thing was soooo cool. Though, when the island dissapeared i made a few chuckles xD

watch friends onlines last blog post..10.01 The One After Joey and Rachel Kiss

Re: More thoughts on Lost: “There’s No Place Like Home”

Great thought about freezing the source of energy to prevent (control) the chemical reaction.
