  • I've been increasingly a Casey Affleck fan, but I was blown over by "Gone, Baby, Gone." So I'm really looking forward to this one! The guy's got acting chops that're far beyond his big brother Ben's, that's for certain.
  • I agree with your assessment...while a bit long, it was outstanding and Casey was simply amazing in it.

Rob O. I agree with you...I've been liking Casey more and more and he's really risen up to be one of my favorite actors right now.

Loved him in Gone Baby Gone, but also in Gerry and The Last Kiss...
  • I wasn't as impressed with Casey in "Gone Baby Gone" (a film that I loved, by the way) because I felt that he was playing his real life self (or a version of himself) in many ways. I thought he was good, but not great. I was glad that I saw that film before seeing "Jesse James" because it really allowed me to see two completely different sides to his abilities within a short period of time (having seen the movies around the same time). The work he did in "Jesse James" was so far beyond what he did in "Gone Baby Gone"...I don't even know what to say about it.
  • The movie in all was great. Affleck's performance was amazing. Jason was right about how his gestures and looks were perfect. LOVED IT!
  • Yeah, I see what you mean Jason...he was good in GBG, but his entire personality was different in Jesse James...
  • I agree that it could have been better without Brad Pitt for the same reason you said...but Brad Pitt is the reason I saw it....I forget how well he can act until I see him in something away from the Ocean character. Casey's character seems a bit mentally challenged, whiny....the same as in GBG. Unlike yourself I grew to dislike James when he shot his "friend" in the back under the stars......It is difficult to get past the looks though.
  • Brad Pitt is awesome in Snatch :) Go rent that...he friggin' rocks.
  • Pitt is also quite good in the only movie he's been Oscar nominated for, 12 Monkeys.
  • Oh yeah, loved 12 Monkeys too...good stuff.
  • Just got this from Netflix but haven't watched it yet. Being related to Jessie James, this should be an interesting watch.
  • I thought it ran long, but was really enjoyable, Pitt did a great job as did Casey....
  • I like both Pitt and Casey (I think he could be better than his brother).
  • Agreed, first I saw Casey in was actually Gone baby Gone, which was probably one of the most disturbing films I've seen... Casey was way better than ben's performance in anything I can recall...
  • The first time I saw him was in Good Will Hunting - man he was hilariously annoying in that movie - a riot to watch. My favorite line of his from that movie was "I think I swallowed a bug."
  • Its been a long while since I saw good Will hunting, was Casey in that movie or you are referring to big brother Ben??
  • They were both in the film.
  • He was in the "Ocean" movies too. You've probably seen him a bunch of times and not even realized it.
  • @ Jason - yep - that's right, he was. He has been coming up silently but is proving to be a good actor.
  • I seriously cant recall him in Good Will, and I didnt recog him in Oceans till last night when 13 was on and I recognized him then....

oh and I was about DYING yesterday too as blade was on, and I was wondering if Ape knew it was the weekend....LOL
  • LOL - that is funny!
  • I just about sent you an email, it was funny when I saw it, was TNT too, the movie not their crap rerun series....
