  • Thanks a lot Dave for helping us out, great review. Pretty much right on with what I've heard so far about it.
  • {Cap'n salutes Dave} Welcome to our corner of the world...

I'm also reading so-so reviews across the board on this, with the money the first one made, we knew the effects would be better this time around (as probably Transformers 2 would be expected to), its a shame the acting and charecters didnt follow suit...
  • I've always thought that Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader were the weakest books in the series.

  • Mike -

Thanks for the warm welcome! I am glad to be here on Pop Critics.

    Cap'n Schwartz -

I have only read one really positive review of Prince Caspian, but it does have the morality factor going for it. You are probably right about the special effects being better because of it being a sequel to a successful money maker. I am hoping for a great Transformers 2 even though I don't usually like the idea of sequels.

    Frank C. -

I haven't actually read any of the others besides LWW, but there is probably a reason that one is the most often read.

  • Hey dave thanks a ton for taking time and writting the review. I have seen the first movie- The lion, the witch and the wardrobe. C.S.Lewis is my favorite author.
I have been actually waiting for Prince Caspian for quite some time. I am going for it for sure!!
  • A big welcome to Dave! (Sorry, I'm always late to the party)

I've always been a big fan of the Narnia books, but I was slightly disappointed with the first film. Since I had to watch Iron Man this weekend I didn't get to catch this one, but I'm still hoping to see it in the theater...of course, we all know Indy will be next...

Unfortunately, it may be the same story for a lot of people...
  • Welcome Dave! We're glad to have you at the party!

@Jason: "Since I had to watch Iron Man this weekend..." As if I twisted your arm and made you watch it. :)
  • Saw it Saturday night and it was a "nice" movie. Not great and not terrible. Kind of like how I imagine David Archuleta once you get half-way through his first album...

  • Don't even get me started on David A....i had a serious rant post ready to write, but figured I'd let Jason do his recap first
  • Yeah - I thought Cook won the night, but apparently Cowell did not agree with me. And I'm guessing neither will most of America.

  • I'm with Mike, i'll save my rant until Jason gets a chance to post his recap.

  • Btw, I'm kind of bummed that Price Caspian hasn't gotten better reviews, but we'll still watch it, but maybe wait for the DVD.

  • I almost want to go see it anyways, just for the special effects, but I think I'll save my money for Indy.
  • @AnaDVR - Um no. This is Indiana Jones Day Eve. There will be no other movies watched until I have seen Dr. Jones.
  • Wow, again thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

It looks like the general consensus is that Prince Caspian was just ok. Again, if you liked the first movie, then this one is sure to please as well, but don't expect this one to be much better in any respects besides special effects.

If there is any question about whether you would be able to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull or not because of seeing Prince Caspian, then this is not a tough decision. GO SEE INDIANA JONES! Indy cover your heart!

  • haven’t seen Prince Caspian yet but definitely looking forward to it… i’ll have to look over the book one more time just to remind myself how the original story goes
  • Any idea when this may be available on Blu-ray? Unfortunately some other Blu-ray movies (e.g. Shrek, Shrek 2) are still not even slated for release on Blu-ray.
