Poster and preview for True Blood, new HBO vampire series

For some reason, I haven’t been paying much attention to the new HBO series True Blood, either because I didn’t know what it was all about, or somehow just missed hearing about it.
Either way, the premiere is coming on September 7th and I wanted to give you all a heads up on what might be a pretty interesting new take on the vampire mythology.

    WHY ARE WE STILL STUCK ON VAMPIRES? Let's move on already! We've been there. We've done that. We've heard the stories in every way imaginable. Let's think of something else!

    Okay, now that I've spoken my mind about that. Why is the show called True Blood if the name of the "blood" is TruBlood? And how the heck does she "read minds?" Where does that come from?

    I'm not sold.

    Yeah vampires suck. heh heh heh. Although I did enjoy the comic 30days of night, didn't see the movie. The whole romanticization of vampires and ooh they may be among us is so... sad really. to totally change the subject has anyone seen Generation War or whatever its called on HBO?

    I have no idea what people think is sexy about creatures that have pasty skin and have to suck the blood of humans. You take someone on a date and start sucking blood from their neck...well, chances are they won't think it's sexy. I'm just saying.

    A guy I meant from TNT said his friend has seen episode 1 of True Blood and
    says it's pretty much the worst pilot he's ever seen.

    I saw G4TVs coverage and looked lame and the interview with Alan ball and the stars didn't do much for me either

    Sheesh...some people hate vampires! lol I'm going to check out the show, but I'm guessing it'll be cheese. I'm a fan of the hot promo poster though. :)

    True Blood resembles Heroes at first glance (just rented the first episode from Blockbuster)... for some reason this show makes me want to eat Cajun food and drink cheap beer

    After watching the first 3 episodes of "True Blood", I just wonder: why? That show is definitely a "Moonlight-wannabe", BUT fails to be! Sookie is blonde, and so was Beth; Bill is dark hair, blue eyes, and so was Mick. The story though is plotless, boring, and doesn't have the sparks that Moonlight provided on a weekly basis.
    It is not by adding sex to a show that it will make it better than another.
    HBO should have taken Moonlight over from CBS if they had wanted to produce a quality and interesting Vampire show.

    3 episodes of TB were more than enough for me to watch. I'd rather re-watch Moonlight on DVD...
