Weak reason. He should have been good enough to win it the other seasons if he really deserved it. Trophy awards because it is a shows last season is a cop-out and it diminishes the award itself and the process.
But what do I know - I'm not in the business. :)

I'm not saying it's a good reason, I totally agree.
I'm just bummed that no one from shows like Lost, Friday Night Lights or BSG ever get nominated. The lead guy in FNL is amazing.
