As you said, Lana cant leave soon enough, but I do enjoy Lex and the character that Rosenbaum makes it to be, and would hate for him to leave.

I agree about Lana, she is well past wearing out her welcome. But I'm not sure how you cannot like Chloe or Lois--especially Lois, who is a great character.
As for next season, it will be the final year. I think for the past 7 years, it's been pretty much confined to the Lex/Clark relationship and they can use Lex leaving as an opening to expand the Smallville universe as Clark finally takes hold of his destiny to become Superman. I think next year should be very interesting, as the series will definitely have a much more epic scope to it.
Chloe is my favorite and once she found out Clark's secret, I really enjoyed their relationship. She's been such a support for him.
