Pop Critics: The Friday Question: Cartoons

    I loved G.I. Joe.

When I was a kid nothing could beat the old Spider-Man cartoons. You know, the original cartoons. Not too long ago I revisited them when they came out on DVD. Didn't have quite the same impact now :-)

Space Ghost, Yogi Bear, Wacky Races and Beany and Cecil were among my favorite Saturday morning cartoon shows (yes, I'm that old). From Looney Toons I'm partial to Foghorn Leghorn and, of course, Bugs Bunny.

Gobots??? Wow, that takes me back a few years! I loved spider-man but also watched GI Joe and gobots.

I loved the Roadrunner and Coyote from Looney Tunes, good stuff!

Yeah, Gobots was awesome even though I don't remember a whole lot other than this world with the bad rebots that was like missing a half maybe?

Well you know this is coming... but Sueprfriends was my favorite... those Wonder twin powers were the best. I especially liked when the dude had the self-defeating power... "Form of .... an Ice-Jet"... and formed into this giant icycle with a flame coming out the back of it...

Also like speed racer, and then in later years I really liked Robo-tech....

Wow...I am such a girl right now... but I loved Muppet Babies! Following close behind, Alvin & the Chipmunks and the Smurfs!

Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner, the Flinstones, Scooby Doo (the originals), the Pink Panther. Yeah, I know this dates me, but these are classics.

I watched every episode of the Smurfs. I can still quote a few lines. We didn't get most of the cartoons you mentioned here in Alberta. Mostly just Bugs Bunny and Roadrunner Hour.

@Tim, I'm not sure I would go around bragging about that :P

Why not? I am pretty comfortable in my manhood :)
Here's a quick one. There was the episode when Pee Wee & Yohan were listening to the bard singing a sad song at the castle:
"It was a dark and gloomy day,
    The farmers house burned down,
The chickens and the cows grew ill,
And all the crops turned brown."
When they complained about the depressing song, he just speeded it up a little.
You must have a Superfriends quote hidden away for a rainy day....
