How about Impostor, the straight to DVD with Gary Sinise? I thought I had it figured out, then I second guessed, then I changed my mind and .......
More recently, War with Jason Stratham and Jet Li.
That role reversal at the end - really didn't see that one coming, but it sure explained the motivations of Jet Li's character. All along, I was thinking, what is this guy trying to do?
I'd say The Sixth Sense, but that would get repetitive :)

I too recommend The Sting, not so much for the ending as just being a good film.

The Sixth Sense and The Usual Suspects were easy choices, although I can't say I was that surprised in either. Still brilliant.

I don't know. I'm going to have to think about this one for a while.

Yeah, not seen ANY of those...my dad just didn't make an effort to show me old movies when I was a kid I guess...but Redford and Newman sound like a movie I'd want to see.

It's almost a cliche', but the Sixth Sense is the easy choice. Never saw it coming. I had totally forgot about the Sting and A Boy and his dog (great movie btw), those are good too. I actually liked the Village and the ending was a surprise. The Usual Suspects is one of my favorites, but I wasn't shocked by the ending, same with Shawshank, altho with that one I'd read the book previous, so I knew the ending.

Other notables: the Empire Strikes Back ("Luke, I am your father" as a kid that one got me.), Saw 1 and Saw 2. One other that comes out later this year is Shutter Island (atho it has a different movie title) that one should surprise a few people.

You've got to a least see The Sting Mike, it's a Redford and Newman classic. Next you're going to tell me you haven't seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It's got sort of a twist ending too - "Oh, good. For a moment there I thought we were in trouble."

Angel Heart has Mickey Rourke being slimy, De Niro being sinister and Lisa Bonet being nekkid. You should catch it on DVD for sure.

A Boy and His Dog is kind of a cult sci-fi classic indie film with a young, pre-Miami Vice, Don Johnson and Tiger, the dog from the Brady Bunch, in the title roles.

Well, The Sting jumps to mind. - "There's been a mistake! I want my money back!"

A Boy and His Dog is a good one too. - "Well, I'd certainly say she had marvelous judgment, Albert, if not particularly good taste." :)

Angel Heart had a good twist at the end although there were clues throughout. - "Alas... how terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise, Johnny?"

The awful The Village had a twist but I was so bored with it by then I didn't really care. I won't even bother to quote from it.

I would definitely have to say The Sixth Sense. My jaw literally (well, ok, figuratively) hit the floor when the ring fell out of her hand. Although The Usual Suspects was pretty awesome too. I also thought Frailty had a good "twisty" ending.

And now for a confession. I am embarrassed to say that I have never seen Shawshank. For some reason it has eluded me and I don't know why b/c I have heard over and over again how awesome it is. Therefore, I skipped over whatever you said about it.
