The inside scoop on the Smashing Pumpkins’ song from the Watchmen trailer

I can’t get the song out of my head from the Watchmen trailer. I heard some people grumbling about how it didn’t have a lot of power to it, but I thought it had strength in its quiet, dark tones.
In case you missed it, the song is from the Smashing Pumpkins: Rarities & B-Sides album.

I thought the song was perfect for the trailer. As I sit here listening to it again, I'm remembering the trailer and it works. Even if I wasn't a fan of the Pumpkins, I'd say the same.

The version they did on Batman & Robin (The End Is The Beginning Is The End) has pretty much the same lyrics but the song is completely different. It's heavy on the guitars and has a faster pace. The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning was one of three additional tracks on the single SP released for that movie which were all based around the same lyrics and music. The other two tracks were The Ethers Tragic and The Guns Of Love Disastrous which were both instrumentals.
