I was watching the HBO series John Adams tonight and there was a nod at George Washington's false teeth. It made me laugh because I remembered that those teeth are on display in Baltimore at The National Museum of Dentistry. Not only that, the map that the American delegation in France used to identify the United States of America at the Treaty of Paris, the actual map from George IIIÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s library, is on display at the Maps exhibitions running at The Walters Art Museum. So far I'd say it's must see TV for all Americans, so many of which don't know the sacrifice our founding fathers went through in order for them to have iPods, HDTV, and internet porn.

I loved the book and the mini-series is spot on so far, can't wait for Sun.

As a 5th grade teacher, this is a subject that is near and dear to my heart. I teach this every year and every time I do I learn something more. I just finished teaching on the American Revolution last week and after watching the show I wish I could show this in school.
I especially appreciated the fact that they did not glorify all of the colonists as patriots as tends to happen frequently. Also that they showed that the Revolution was not something that came easily to the colonists. It was extremely dangerous for these men and women to do what they did and I think it is great that we can learn about and appreciate what they did. Amazing so far, and I can't wait to watch the rest.

Yeah, a good rating, but I honestly have real love for this time in our history...and the first two episodes had moments that got me teary eyed...especially the reading of the Declaration of Independence...I just can't imagine being there and seeing what it was like.

If I ever had a time machine, it might be the first thing I'd do...travel back to witness it all.

Wow. 9.5 out of 10. You were impressed. Since I don't have HD you can imagine that I also do not subscribe to HBO. I can't wait for the DVD, though... I too am a history nut and I have actually studied the American Revolution at great length.

I had this on in the background as I was doing some other things, only half-watching, which I regretted at the end when I realized I was actually paying more attention than I thought, and really wanted to see it all from the beginning. I hope the repeats are on soon. Definitely better than expected.
