Like many other Americans, I tuned in to watch despite my disillusionment with American government over the last couple of decades. I watched it without many expectations, knowing that no matter how direct a question was asked, the responses would be somewhat non-committal, and sound bite ready. The major news journals in the United States were certainly taking notes, as the New York Times depicted the debate as “90 minutes of forced cordiality” and the Boston Globe stated that it was “mercifully free” from the personal attacks I was beginning to get used to and tired of. It certainly was full of tension and made for good T.V., to say the least. McCain continues to pursue policies nearly identical to George W. Bush despite his “maverick” status, such as off shore drilling and staying the course in Iraq. (The irony is astounding: what makes him a maverick is that he wants to do the same things as one of the most unpopular presidents in living memory. The BIG joke is that he is rebelling against the American public.) Obama relied heavily on criticizing the Republican Party, stating that they were the ones that created this mess and he’s going to get us out of it. If we had to go by what they actually said, there’s no telling just which one is the best for getting our economy out of these turbulent times. Obama’s position on “predatory lending” is not a good solution – it’s sure to lead to more unemployment - is more a declaration of intent to appease the banking industry.
Post Courtesy of Personal Money Store
Professional Blogging Team
Feed Back: 1-866-641-3406
Home: http://personalmoneystore.com/NoFaxPaydayLoans....
Blog: http://personalmoneystore.com/moneyblog/

Re: Ultimate Bad Ass: Round 2 - John McClane Bracket

@Mike, I have to agree with you... Bruce comes out flying, moving so fast McClane doesn't even see the hands and feet that pummel his face. McClane goes down, but gets back up. He goes down again. He gets back up again. Lee quickly tires of this and proceeds to "finish him" by throwing him off the roof. John, however, is able to grab the railing and leverage his momentum to pull Lee over the edge. McClane hangs on to Lee with one arm. "Yippee-ki-yay, mother------," McClane says with a smile as he releases his hold on Lee. McClane doesn't care how he wins. But he wins.

Bond and Jones meet in a small bar in Calcutta. Bond has arrived early and is leaning against the bar sipping his martini. Jones makes the first move reaching quickly for his pistol. Bond tosses the martini into Jones' eyes and rushes him. An old fashion scuffle ensues. They fight, man to man...until Bond grows tired and pulls out HIS gun and shoots Jones in both knees. Without a word he leaves the bar and walks down the street. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cell phone. He dials a number and the bar explodes behind him. Indy's seared and smoking fedora lands at his feet. Bond, after all, has a license to kill.

Re: Ultimate Bad Ass: Round 2 - John McClane Bracket

But I love McClane :)

I'm also trying to think of James Bond from Casino Royale, not Pierce Brosnan...Daniel Craig just seems more bad ass to me.

Re: Ultimate Bad Ass: Round 2 - John McClane Bracket

Seems like two impossible choices, but when you think about it, it is not that tough of a choice, especially with regard to the first match-up. McClane is awesome, but Bruce Lee was a bad ass in real life and in the movies.

Steven's last blog post..Top 100 Movies: Christmas in Gotham, Life in a Convenience Store, and A Real Life Hero
